This is Orange County’s most DANGEROUS intersection – And here’s why

Although Orange County has a bit of a reputation for bad driving – sometimes the road layouts don’t help either. And, as shown in this particular video – certain intersections can be very confusing and dangerous. This footage was taken at the Jamboree-Edinger intersection in Irvine and shows one unfortunate car head into oncoming traffic. Luckily for them, the road was mostly empty, with only two cars in other lanes going quite slowly. However, on another day this could have spelled disaster.

While we’re not saying the driver in question is innocent, you can easily see how this intersection leads to a number of accidents. In fact, if you weren’t from the area and weren’t a confident driver then you could easily make a similar mistake.

Reminder, the Jamboree-Edinger intersection in Tustin/Irvine kinda sucks. Be careful, everyone!

To add to the confusion, the signs painted on the ground also give the illusion that you can take the first exit. However, not everyone saw it that way and ultimately it is the driver’s fault. One person wrote, “I’ve taken that turn many times and not once been so confused by it that I’ve ended up on the wrong side of the road.” while another added, “Design aside, we drive on the right hand side, not the left. There’s also keep right signs like sitting in your face so it’s hard for me to see how you end up there.”

If nothing else, this serves as a reminder to do your homework and learn how to read road signs correctly, as otherwise you may also fall foul to a similar intersection!

    Also, when heading west on Edinger, there are no signs on the Jamboree overpass identifying it as such.
