This is probably the WORST value house in New Orleans – The price will surprise you

Perhaps one of the worst-priced properties in New Orleans is this one. Priced at a whopping $200,000 this works out at $94 per square foot and as you can see, it’s literally a bunch of five containers put together. However, when you look inside the property, it actually gets a lot worse.

Firstly, the house is completely unfurnished and it’s literally a metal shell with wooden fittings. In other words, there’s literally nothing else – and that also includes insulation. Put simply, you could easily buy a much better home in New Orleans for a fraction of the cost – which is already furnished. So, it’s not just $200,000. It’s $200,000 before paying for a kitchen, bathroom, electricity, and other basic functions. Therefore, the final cost would be far greater than what it’s sold for. Sadly, it gets worse…

This house is advertised in the LA 70117 neighborhood which is a pretty rundown area. In one of the photos, you can also see graffiti on the property next door. Now, if this property was in the best area of the city, then it may have been worth it for the land. The point is that it’s not, and the area isn’t great.

For the curious, this property is listed as having five bedrooms and five bathrooms, so it’s actually fairly large. Still, you’d have to be very foolish to buy it. On a final note, you’d also have to think about the seasons. Due to the metal structure, it would be incredibly cold during the winter, while simultaneously being incredibly hot during the summer. We did warn you, this is probably the worst valued property in New Orleans.

This also demonstrates the lack of adorable housing in the city for working people. If this area is run down and it’s priced at 200k with absolutely no working necessities or walls, who is allowing such madness. People literally need a place to stay and some investor threw a bunch of cheap containers up and called it a house and will get rich off an unfinished structure, or fronting just to hold the land until the area is revitalized. So sad. People of New Orleans need help.
