This is the CHEAPEST car in Detroit – But is it worth the risk?
Located in Waterford, this truck is the cheapest in the Detroit area and is available for a mere $800. As you’d expect with a price like this – the vehicle isn’t exactly brand new and is riddled with problems. However, if you’re handy with cars and know your stuff then it could be a bargain.
For those interested, this truck is a 1996 GMC Sierra K1500 and according to the owner, they paid $1500 for it two years ago and spent over $3500 trying to fix it. However, they have also admitted that it still won’t start, despite multiple attempts at fixing it and thousands of dollars spent in the process. As seen in the image below, it also has quite a bad rust problem.
The owner also stated that they’d fitted it with new brake lines, a new exhaust system, a new battery, a new starter and ‘a ton of other things.’ In fairness, this may just be one of the most honest listings ever found on Craigslist and as it states, you’ll probably need a lot of car knowledge to get it working. And one other thing – it also has this sticker on the back, which is either very ugly or the best thing ever, depending on your level of patriotism.
Furthermore, the car also needs towing – which isn’t surprising considering that it can’t start. At the same time, these cars can easily fetch over $10,000 in the right condition. So, if you’re up for a challenge in the Detroit area, then you could just find yourself a real bargain.
