This is the cheapest car in Hawaii – But is it TOO good to be true?
According to research, the average price for a car in Hawaii costs around $32,000. So, you can see why people would be excited when looking at this car for sale for the mere price of $100. Located in Kealakekua, this was found on Craigslist and is a fantastic price.
At the same time though, you would naturally expect this car to have a number of problems – as there’s no such thing as a free lunch (or a decent car for $100!). This is a 4.6 liter Ford 2000 F150 XLT which comes with a number of problems.
According to the owner, this vehicle stopped running around the 250,000 mile mark and the ad reads, “It used to run well but has some electrical issues that drained the battery, it also needs a tune up , suspension work, brakes, and probably other stuff too” In other words, this has a lot of baggage. Not only this but the safety and registration are both expired – but the title is still present. As if that wasn’t enough of a challenge, it will also need to be towed – which makes sense considering its array of issues.
Having said this, if you were a local mechanic then this could turn out to be a huge bargain. In the above picture alone, the exterior of the car looks solid – and at the very least it could be pieced out. However, if you did have the funds or skills to renovate this truck then it could turn out to be a really good deal. Furthermore, the owner also claimed they’d be open to offers, so this one could turn out to be a great deal after all.
