This is the most zen place in Memphis – And you’ve probably never heard of it

Memphis has its fair share of relaxing spaces. However, this area is probably the most tranquil and zen area in the whole city. Surprisingly, not many people know about this spot – yet it’s been under your nose for the entire time.

Cutting to the chase, we’re talking about the courtyard in the Oak Court Mall. Now, we know what you may be thinking – how on earth is a mall peaceful? As mentioned, this place is pretty untapped, and not many people know about it or visit it. If you don’t believe us, check out the video below.

As seen, this space has plenty of trees, foliage, and huge windows, as well as sitting spaces. Arguably, it would make a great location for a quiet, summertime picnic with loved ones. Reacting to its beauty, one user joked on social media, “Is this why I see older people around the outside of Oak Court? I know mall walkers are a thing but they must be headed here, huh?”

So, next time you write Oak Court off as a dated mall, just realize that sometimes, there’s more to life than meets the eye and hidden beauty can be found anywhere. On a similar note, hopefully this mall lasts the test of time because if this place does eventually get closed down then Memphis will be worse off for it.
