San Francisco properties are notoriously high compared to other parts of the country. Nonetheless, we recently found this place for under $1 million. These days, that’s a bit of a unicorn in terms of available deals. However, as seen – this isn’t exactly in good condition and would need a lot of refurbishment work. Firstly, the back yard area is seriously damaged, the inside looks equally as bad while the front is also in need of a serious paint job.

This isn’t the biggest property either with 2 beds and 1 bath. Potentially though, this property could be flipped for a significant profit. For example, if you were a builder with the right contacts then you could sink a few hundred thousand into this and possibly get $2 million for it. This is because it’s located in 21st St which is one of the hottest neighborhoods in San Francisco.

Now, we know that the real estate market has slowed down significantly lately – but even still, this zip code is about as good as it gets for $950,000. So, perhaps it’s not as bad as it first looks. Of course, you’d still have to worry about permits and wouldn’t want to end up like this house where you could even lose money if you did it badly.

Overall, this house serves as an example of perspective. With the right person and skills, it could turn a nice profit. For everyone else though, it looks like a lot of hard work and is pretty unsightly.
