This sign shows the depressing state of Claremont politics
A sign recently emerged showing the depressing state in one of New Hampshire’s best known cities. As pictured below, the sign reads: “Save Claremont – Reelect no one to city council.” You don’t have to be a genius to work out the meaning of the sign, which was clearly sick of the counselors in the city. For reference, this photo was taken in Nelmar Heights.
Usually, people will only vote outside of the main counselors if they’re desperate and want a real change. However, this rarely ever happens and is seen as a sign of separation. Nonetheless, it shows just how fed up some people are with the New Hampshire political landscape.
Perhaps one of the reasons why people aren’t happy is due to the Claremont property tax rate which is the highest in New Hampshire with a rate of 41.68. This does make you wonder what on earth is going on.
Speaking emotionally, one Claremont resident went as far as to add, “Claremont looks like a goddamn warzone, it’s easily one of the worst towns in all of New Hampshire. Counting down the seconds until I can leave.” while others claimed it was a ‘depressing area‘ amongst other words that are probably best not to share.
Will Claremont ever improve, or is it set for an eternity of disgruntled voters? Who knows – but clearly people aren’t happy with its current state.
REDUCE TAX RATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
well you have the tax rate you have the chief of police going after people over personal vendettas and using his powers against some illegally oh and 10 million other things that I can that I care not to mention in this post
Claremont is depressing. The roads are the worst anywhere. Where do all our high tax dollars go? We can’t even draw in any decent stores or restaurants. If I could move I would do it on a heartbeat. Even charlestown is better. Our dump was and is a joke. Other towns you pay for a year’s sticker and the dump is free after that. I for one am disgusted and GED up
