This woman made a Boston subway outfit – And it’s absolutely AWESOME
If you’ve ever ridden the Boston subway then you may have noticed that the seats look a certain way. To be perfectly frank, these are a throwback to the late 80s or early 90s when seemingly all public transport used this particular design.
While most people aren’t really fans of this look, one Reddit user decided to sew an entire outfit using the pattern. She then visited the Boston subway and sat on the very same seats – blending in with her surroundings in the process. Whether you love or hate her design, you can’t deny that it’s not creative and equally skilled.
It’s also no coincidence that the dress is an exact match for the seats either. According to the user, she said, “I created the fabric from photos I took of the seats, and printed it with Spoonflower on their celosia velvet, so as a bonus it’s fuzzy.” Clearly, this person left no stone unturned when creating their homage to Boston public transport.
On a separate note, you would think that the Boston Subway would eventually change its seat patterns to match the 21st century! however, if everyone is like this designer and actually likes the pattern then maybe there’s a reason why it hasn’t been changed yet. Visit us next week when someone uses the Big Dig as inspiration for a suit!
