WANTED – Grand Rapids Thief steals from antique store
A thief has been photographed after stealing from an antique shop in Grand Rapids. The man stole from a booth in Warehouse One Antiques and was caught on CCTV as he pocketed several expensive items. According to the owner, he took three vintage dolls that were worth a lot of money.
As if this wasn’t enough, the same man was pictured yet again in the same store. However, the owner has not confirmed whether he stole anything during his second visit. Without sounding too cynical though, you would assume that he wasn’t there just to look around.
Over the years, antique booths have often been targeted by thieves as they often lack the staff to man the floor. As a result, they often rely on trust when selling items. In other words, certain people (like the man pictured) are quick to take advantage when nobody is around.
As seen, the man is probably in his late 60s and is of an average build. Grand Rapids locals were also quick to point out his oversized coat – which he wore on a very hot summer’s day. Obviously, this would have been used to steal items and hide their whereabouts.
Often, selling antiques is done as a labor of love – which makes this case of thieving even worse. So, if you know anything about this man or can help the investigation then please give your opinions. The shop owner can be contacted at daniel@debbiesdolls.net.
