We found the cheapest car in Portland – This is what $100 will get you
If you’re after a bargain car, then we may have found the right vehicle for you. However, be warned as this is DEFINITELY a restoration project. The plus side of this is that it also costs a mere $100, so really you can’t go too wrong in losing money.
As far as the car is concerned, you don’t have to be a mechanic to see why this car is cheap. Even just by looking at it – you can tell it needs a lot of TLC. I present, the 2002 Subaru Forester. Obviously, this car is not road worthy (yet) and looks like it’s been through its fair share of potholes too.
Firstly, the car is a non-runner, secondly it has over 220,000 miles on the clock, and thirdly it’s also missing the correct paperwork. As if that wasn’t enough, it was also hit by a truck at some point, and also has a known oil leak. In other words, it comes with a lot of baggage, both internally and externally.
The good news is that Subaru’s actually make for decent cars, so if you had the technical knowledge and patience, you could possibly turn this around or at least harvest some of the salvageable parts.
So, even though the cost of living has risen in Portland, OR in recent years – it seems that bargains can be sold. Of course, there are also some pretty huge strings attached with this one.
