We Found The CHEAPEST Rental Apartment In Portland – And It’s Really Not That Bad
With high end studios renting out for $1500+ in downtown Portland, there isn’t really too much room in this city for those with a smaller budget. However, we found the cheapest rental apartment on Zillow, and surprisingly it was much better than expected.
As you would expect, there are a few drawbacks that come with a studio apartment that rents out for $795 per month with electricity included in this price. But at the same time, it’s certainly not the worst property i’ve ever seen by any stretch of the imagination.
This listing is a self contained studio apartment within a house, which is split into several other studios. A far cry away from a modern skyscraper in central PDX, but then again, it’s also less than 50% of the rent for a property like that.
Furthermore, located on NW Hoyt St 97210, the apartment is really not in a bad location. When we first saw the price, I expected it to be on the outskirts of the city and barely inside of Portland.
As you can see, the kitchen and furnishings are somewhat dated, but certainly not in bad condition either. Perhaps the main downside of the property is that the nearest middle school is over 4 miles away. However, as this is a studio apartment, the chances are that this will likely not matter to the occupant anyway.
A strange choice of decoration now doubt. I remember my grandmother had a carpet pattern very similar to this in the late 1980s! The bench also seems a little odd, as this would be a strange place to sit down for a while.
According to a report by Zumper, as of September 2021, the median rental price for a studio apartment in Portland was $1,200 per month and prices have certainly not dropped since then. However, this can vary greatly depending on the location, size, and features of the apartment.
Some of the factors that can affect the rental price of a studio apartment in Portland include the proximity to public transportation, grocery stores, and other amenities, as well as the age and condition of the building. Additionally, apartments with additional amenities such as on-site laundry, fitness centers, or parking may come with a higher price tag.
