This week, we found the most expensive business available to buy in Portland right now. Based in southwest Portland, this business will set you back a whopping $299,999. But, the real question is whether it’s actually worth it or not.

Firstly, this business has a 5 year lease on the rent and is approximately 2,300 square feet. It also claims to be within walking distance of PSU and other downtown Portland hotspots. Aside from this, there isn’t too much information – other than the main niche of the business, which is described as a legal ‘cannabis dispensary’.

Interestingly, it also mentions being a brand new shop, with the owner recently exiting the industry. Honestly, this sounds a little contradictory considering you’d imagine the owner would stick around for a while if they recently invested in a new shop. Aside from this, there’s not much else mentioned, other than the inventory being part of the deal.

So, is this worth it? Obviously, you would need to look at the financial details which aren’t freely available. In fairness it’s also true that the cannabis business is thriving in the USA these days, so there’s that. Having said this, there simply isn’t enough information out there to make a sensible decision on whether this is worth it.

This begs the question about the serious nature of this advert. You would think that something being advertised for roughly $300,000 would come with at least a few more details. With this said, we have a suspicious feeling that this shop may be up for sale for a long time to come.
