We found the most expensive property in Portland OR, it will blow your mind
Just recently, we bought you this property which is definitely on the cheaper side of PDX real estate. However, it’s only fair to look at the other end of the spectrum. In this case, we’ll now turn our attention to the most expensive property on the market which is located in the 97205 of the city.
For a cool $8,999,000 this property could be yours and is a penthouse apartment located in the heart of Portland. As if that wasn’t enough money to be spending, it also comes with an estimated $56,000 monthly cost – so if you don’t have deep pockets then this one may be worth giving a miss!
As you can imagine, the views in this place would be stunning and the building is kitted out with modern amenities such as a gym area, pool, jacuzzi, and other perks to brighten up your day. This property was built in 2023 and has been on the market for over 80 days, so there may even be some negotiations to be had on the asking price!
As seen with the floor plan, there’s plenty of space and this measures up at 3,256 sqft, with 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms on offer. So, if you want to act like the king (or queen) of Portland, then this would make an ideal purchase. For everyone else, we can still dream!
Why have a place that expensive? Not many people can afford a place for 8.5 mil. Plus a 54k a mo th just to run the place…. that’s insane. What materials do they use that they have to have a price that big?
I was raised in south east Portland . Our family home was a modest three bedroom , one bath on a 50 x 100 ft lot. My parents paid $4600 for the property. My brother purchased the home after my parents retired and planned on traveling. He later sold the property for $64,000. That was about 50 years ago. Portland at the time was a-multi income city. A person with great credit, a good job and had the dollars to pay cash in 1955 could live well but not in the Alameda, west Hills, or Hollywood residential area. my wife and I moved from PDX 25 years ago out of a 2200 sq ft home in aurora. We purchased a home in Hines, Oregon for 5600 dollars. My thinking is that if you choose to live well in a safe community, if you can find work, move this way. The cost of remodeling and to purchase a new home in Harney county has gone up as well . Our little cottage has tripled in selling value and at 80 years old I do not plan to sell or purchase another home.
