Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson called ‘traitor’ & LAMBASTED for Israel Tweet
Yesterday, Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson was widely criticized on Twitter after showing his support for solidarity with Israel. This happened after Americans woke up to the news of a terror attack in Israel, where members of Hamas had killed Israelis after breaching the country’s defenses in a planned attack.
Johnson’s Tweet read: “Today, on a holy day of the Jewish calendar, Israel woke up to a brutal and unprecedented attack from Hamas, killing and wounding hundreds of civilians. The City of Dallas strongly condemns this act of terrorism and we stand in solidarity with the State and People of Israel.”
It goes without saying that the Palestinian-Israeli conflict is a heated topic and by giving his support to Israel, many Dallas locals weren’t happy. One user replied saying: “An attack that they’ve been provoking for the last 70 years. Backed by people like you who accept all of their lobby dollars. You sir are not American, you’re a Zionist, and a racist against Arabs.”
Elsewhere, others used the post to call Johnson a ‘traitor’ due to the fact he switched from the Democrats to the Republican party just two weeks back. One user wrote: “Will this still be true in a month? Or are you planning to switch to the Palestinian Party then? Resign, Liar…”
Elsewhere, a user named Sheila also said this: “Should never have given Iran billions. What did we think they would do with it.”
It should be noted that some of the comments did support Johnson for his statement but clearly, a lot of Dallas people aren’t happy with their mayor.
