Voodoo Donuts Voted The WORST Attraction In The State

April 26, 2023 by 5 Comments

In a recent Instagram poll, the worst attraction of every state was selected. Whilst some of these attractions genuinely terrible, it seems like Voodoo Donuts got harshly judged – at least in my opinion.

If we are to compare Voodoo Donuts to other attractions on the list such as the gum wall, or the center of the Universe in Tulsa, Oklahoma, it really is quite unfair that it made the list. Portland and Oregon in general have a LOT worse things than a nicely presented donut store after all.

The worst thing you can hear about Voodoo Donuts, is that it is overrated. Many Portlanders have other favorite donut shops, but surely this shouldn’t be making an instagram graphic? It’s certainly not a bad place to buy donuts, it’s pretty original and the flavours aren’t too bad at all. I don’t really understand people who would queue in an excessively large line to order from this store, but is it really the WORST attraction?

If you have been living under a rock and don’t know anything about Voodoo Donuts, here is some more information:

Voodoo Doughnuts is a popular doughnut shop chain founded in Portland, Oregon, in 2003 by Kenneth “Cat Daddy” Pogson and Tres Shannon. They are known for their creative and eccentric doughnut flavors, as well as their distinctive pink boxes and quirky branding.

The shop has become a popular tourist destination, attracting doughnut lovers from all over the world. Some of their most famous doughnut flavors include the Portland Cream, Bacon Maple Bar and Voodoo Doll. They also offer vegan and gluten-free options.

In addition to their Portland location, Voodoo Doughnut has expanded to other cities such as Denver, Austin, Hollywood, and Universal CityWalk. The shop has been featured in various media outlets, including Food Network, Travel Channel, and The New York Times.

I love the Cock N’ Balls and the Memphis Mafia Fritter. VooDoo should get credit for creativity as well!

I didn’t see what all the hype was about. I’ve definitely had better donuts elsewhere and didn’t have to worry about being robbed, stabbed, etc.
